Digital Engagement Specialist

Department

Marketing & Communications

Office Location

Denver, Colorado

Area of Focus

Lynn is responsible for engaging WRA’s base of supporters, maintaining and growing organizational email lists, and ensuring that the website is an effective engagement and advocacy tool. Using data analytics as her guide, she identifies tactics to reach key audiences and creatively uses digital tools to advance policy goals. She also supports digital fundraising efforts and collaborates across teams to maintain a clear brand voice.

Background

Lynn launched her career working as a legislative aide in the Colorado State Capitol. After years researching bills, working with lobbyists and advocates, and futilely attempting to understand water law, she moved to Oregon wine country for her bachelor’s degree. With a knack for luxury service, moving guests up the ladder of engagement, and cultivating long-term supporters, Lynn quickly found her way into marketing and leadership roles at local, family-owned wineries as they carved out brand distinctives and formed a core customer base. While participating in an industry-wide effort to build the Willamette Valley’s reputation as a premier wine destination, Lynn continued to exercise her political skills by serving as an organizer and volunteer advocate for environmental protections, human rights, and dignified workplaces in her community.

She found her way to professional advocacy as the lead digital organizer with Environment America in 2020, where she primarily worked on federal level conservation campaigns. Having experienced first-hand the devastating impacts of wildfires, droughts, and land mismanagement, Lynn is motivated by the wins over the last few decades of climate policy, knowing that we don’t just have to imagine a better world – we can live in it.

Favorite thing about the West

The West’s dramatic beauty and rugged, demanding terrain draws out what is best in us: resilience, humility, creativity, and interdependence. Every minute on the mountain, every ride in the wilderness, and every bite on the line is a chance to be reminded of our love of life and of the land that we share.
