Five Principles for Governing the Colorado River

The Bureau of Reclamation has kicked off the process of working with the Colorado River Basin states and Tribes, along with municipalities, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders to develop a plan for managing the river after 2026, when current guidelines expire. At WRA, we believe the blueprint for the river’s policy foundation must include five principles. We outline these principles in this one-pager, along with just a few of the many strategies we can implement to protect the Colorado River Basin.
