Area of Focus:
Gwen develops and advocates for policies that reduce the environmental impact of energy generation and use in the Interior West. She participates in regulatory, legislative, and other policy forums with a focus on accelerating the region’s transition to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and other clean energy strategies.
Background:
Gwen joined WRA in 2011. She was previously an associate research director at E Source in Boulder, Colorado, where her research focused on energy efficiency and distributed energy program design, marketing, implementation, evaluation and regulatory policy. Ms. Farnsworth also previously worked as a research fellow at the RAND Corporation in California and as an intern at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Austria.
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Russian Civilization from the University of California, Los Angeles
- Master of Philosophy in Public Policy Analysis (focus on energy and environmental policy) from the RAND Graduate School in Santa Monica, California
Favorite thing about the West:
The big blue skies – especially as seen biking through the farmland of northern Colorado, or down the winding road off the top of McClure Pass, or emerging from the wooded and rocky Taylor Canyon.
