A semi-retired lawyer-turned-entrepreneur, Carla Hamre Donelson provides independent strategic, financial and organizational advice to growth stage technology companies. Carla was formerly Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary at Verio Inc. One of four founding executives, she oversaw Verio’s growth-by-consolidation strategy. Completing more than 60 acquisitions facilitated by $1.5 billion in equity and debt financing, Verio launched from a startup Internet venture to a global, 4,000-employee market leader in business focused web services, culminating in Verio’s sale to Japanese telecom giant NTT just 4 years after inception. Before Verio, Carla was a partner with international law firm Morrison & Foerster, specializing in corporate finance, M&A, and general business matters. She chaired Morrison and Foerster’s Rocky Mountain regional corporate practice and co-chaired the firmwide telecommunications practice. Throughout her career Carla has served as an advisor to, and on the board of directors of, a variety of nonprofit organizations, primarily focused on education, the arts and the environment.
