Western Lands Senior Policy Analyst

Area of Focus:
Rachael’s work for WRA’s Western Lands program includes policy research, analysis, and development, with a focus on state-level policy in Nevada, Montana, Colorado, and Arizona. She also engages in outreach and collaboration with stakeholders and contributes to cross-programmatic initiatives with WRA’s Clean Energy and Healthy Rivers programs. Her current priority issues include improving wildfire resilience, protecting and connecting migratory corridors and habitats for wildlife, and supporting efforts to secure dedicated financing for conservation.
Rachael joined Western Resource Advocates in 2015. Prior to joining WRA, Rachael worked for U.S. Senator Mark E. Udall in his Colorado office. Her previous experience includes political campaigns in Colorado and Virginia, and teaching English in Guangzhou, China.
Master of Public Administration, Environmental Policy, Management and Law concentration from University of Colorado Denver. Master’s thesis: Environmental Health Regulation of Uranium Mining and Milling: A Regulatory Race to the Bottom? which focused on Namibia as a case study. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Art from Williams College.
