Area of Focus
As the Senior Development Writer, Nicole engages prospects and donors in advancing WRA’s mission through creative and strategic communications. She identifies and develops ideas, information, and stories – transforming them into compelling and persuasive content that facilitates the understanding of our work and the impact of philanthropy.
Nicole started her career in philanthropy with more than a decade of work on the donor services and fundraising team of The Denver Foundation, Colorado’s oldest and largest community foundation. While there, she was responsible for a portfolio of donor-advised funds and an annual stewardship and communications plan to deepen relationships with donors. She went on to manage a capital campaign for Judi’s House, raising $18+ million to build a purpose-built center for bereaved children and their caregivers. Nicole loves to see the transformative power of philanthropy in action.
Nicole holds a BA in Politics/Environmental Studies from Whitman College and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from University of Colorado – Denver.
Favorite thing about the West
No matter how long one lives here, there are still so many beautiful places to discover. Walking in a forest, watching a mountain stream, taking in the colors of a sunset – the opportunities for a recharge from nature are plentiful.
