Area of Focus
As part of the clean energy team, George works across the region advocating for plans and programs that accelerate the transition to a low cost, low risk clean energy future. His work focuses on scaling up renewable energy development and transportation electrification and using energy smarter through improved utility resource planning and advancing a regional power market.
Background
Before joining WRA in 2023, George represented a regional clean energy non-profit in the Southeast before Florida regulators advocating for outcomes that paved the way to a cleaner, lower cost energy future for Florida families. During that time, he helped launch a statewide ballot initiative in 2015 that helped preserve solar choice for customers. He also ran a private law practice that focused on protecting the natural environment and enacting clean energy policies; and working with allies, he helped derail a number of proposed coal plants in Florida. In addition, he has enjoyed his role as an adjunct professor of Environmental Policy, and Energy Law.
