Carrie works closely with the Government Affairs team, helping to lead the development of advocacy campaign and political strategies on WRA’s priority campaigns. This includes prioritizing among issue campaigns, building campaign plans, figuring out strategies to engage key stakeholders, and advancing critical conservation policies, among other activities. She is a member of the Executive and Senior Leadership teams and helps with strategic planning and other organizational initiatives.
Background
Carrie has worked at the intersection of public policy, nonprofit advocacy, and politics throughout her twenty-plus-year career in Colorado. She recently spent a decade working to conserve and protect Colorado’s land, water, and natural resources with Conservation Colorado. Previously, she was vice president of advocacy with The Impact Project, which sought to advance economic security and participation in democracy across a multi-state region. She is passionate about building successful advocacy programs capable of achieving meaningful and lasting impacts at the state and local level. In addition to her career in policy advocacy, she served as a volunteer with the Peace Corps in rural Morocco. In her free time Carrie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling as much as possible, cooking, and watching soccer.
Favorite thing about the West
I love the outdoor lifestyle in Colorado. We live near the foothills and love to hike, bike, and camp any chance we get. I also love that our kids are able to grow up with a love of nature, the mountains, and being outdoors.
