This report, and companion public outreach brief, detail innovative water conservation strategies that provide an affordable and secure water supply for Southwest New Mexico’s largest urban population, while also protecting the Gila River. By using existing federal funds to pursue shovel-ready local water conservation and efficiency projects, Deming can meet future water needs, save tens of millions in capital improvement costs, and protect the crown jewel of New Mexico, the Gila River.
