Portia Prescott

Portia Prescott is Managing Partner at Jefferson Prescott Strategies, where she leads a team of experts to assist diversity, equity, and inclusion transformation initiatives which involve outreach strategy, capability-building and organizational change. She is a co-founding member of Black Girls Hike, a movement initiated in 2017 challenging the stereotypes in outdoor spaces and encouraging Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC Women) to explore nature. She has led hundreds of women on trails because it had become a cultural idiom that outdoor spaces lacked diverse faces and voices in the fight for environmental justice. As an effective Business and Community leader, she possesses over 20 years of extensive experience in government affairs and community relations addressing diversity policy needs.

“Albert Einstein told us to look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better. I am extremely grateful to serve on the WRA Board. This organization utilizes an extremely diverse team to achieve their mission to protect the West’s land, air, and water. They understand that it is essential that the West has clean air and clean water to ensure the safety and vitality for all communities and habitats.”
