Jamie Starr is a brand and marketing leader who has spent the majority of his career helping purpose-driven organizations connect with audiences in ways that drive impact, loyalty, and cultural relevance. He currently serves as director of marketing at the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah, where he leads brand and marketing strategy for one of the nation’s premier adaptive recreation organizations.
Prior to that, Jamie held leadership roles with outdoor brands including The North Face, Backcountry, DPS Skis, The Oberalp Group (parent company of Dynafit, Salewa, and Wild Country), and Spyder Active Sports. His work has spanned global brand storytelling, integrated campaigns, and organizational transformation — with a focus on outdoor, nonprofit, and mission-aligned brands.
Before shifting into brand leadership, Jamie began his career as a practicing lawyer. He studied natural resources law at the University of Colorado Law School, where he served as an editor of the Colorado Journal of International Environmental Law and Policy. He also completed internships with the National Wildlife Federation’s Rocky Mountain Natural Resource Center and in the lands department at Western Resource Advocates—a connection that continues today through his board service.
Originally from Crested Butte, Colorado, Jamie’s lifelong connection to mountains and environmental advocacy continues to inform both his professional work and personal ethos.
