electric vehicles

Western Resource Advocates today commented on the Utah Legislature’s passage of House Bill 396, a measure that will facilitate the expanded buildout of an electric vehicle (EV) charging network along highways and interstate freeways across Utah:

“Building out the charging infrastructure across the state will make it easier for more people to use electric vehicles and will help reduce the fossil-fuel emissions that harm Utah’s air quality and contribute to climate change,” said Aaron Kressig, Western Resource Advocates’ transportation electrification manager. “Those emissions benefits would be maximized, however, if PacifiCorp would reduce its reliance on coal-fired power plants and transition to greater renewable energy use, so those electric vehicles could be charged on a clean electricity grid.”
