After an extraordinary 12 years leading Western Resource Advocates, Jon Goldin-Dubois has announced that he will step down from his role as president at the end of this year. Following thoughtful reflection, he has decided the moment is right to move away from full-time work, focus on time with loved ones, and embrace the opportunity to explore and enjoy the world around him.

WRA has nearly four decades of experience successfully driving state action to address complex conservation and environmental problems. The organization is strong and well-positioned for its next chapter. We have an ambitious, long-term vision and strategic goals that provide clarity of purpose and direction through 2030.

Serving our mission to fight climate change and its impacts has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Together, we’ve grown in ways I could have only imagined, expanding our impact and strengthening the work that matters so deeply to all of us.

Additionally, we have excellent executive and senior-level leaders who have been guiding many aspects of WRA’s mission and fulfilling our vision. Our staff are brilliant and passionate about the work we do every day to fight climate change and its impacts.

WRA is fiscally sound, thanks to committed donors that have made critical contributions to the organization’s growth and success, and a network of advocates and supporters like you who care deeply about conservation and climate issues.

What’s Next?

Our engaged and thoughtful board of directors will launch a national search for WRA’s next president. The transition to a new president will be intentional, well-supported, and carefully managed.

I want to thank Jon for his extraordinary leadership and unwavering commitment. His vision and dedication have shaped this organization in lasting ways.
