Lead the transition to a cleaner, secure, & more sustainable energy future with WRA.

The quality of life we enjoy in the West depends on clean air and a healthy environment. But climate change is increasing the West’s already high risk of drought, wildfires, heat waves and other extreme events.

Climate change is increasing the West’s already high risk of drought, wildfires, heat waves and other extreme events.

The quality of life we enjoy in the West depends on clean air and a healthy environment, but burning fossil fuels for electricity and transportation is threatening our future.

Western states have a unique opportunity to lead the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future. By tapping our abundant and affordable solar, wind, and geothermal power, and by using energy more efficiently and modernizing our electric grid, the West can drive clean energy job creation, eliminate air pollution, and cut carbon emissions — protecting healthy communities and strong economies.

And at WRA, we have plan to get it done. Our experts work with state agencies, utilities, and decision-makers to ensure the West is leading the nation with forward-thinking, innovative solutions.

The best part? It’s working:

  • Electric utilities like Xcel in Colorado, APS in Arizona, and PNM in New Mexico are setting real, achievable goals to reach 100% clean energy by mid-century.
  • Public commissions are advancing rules that will help us modernize our grid faster and more efficiently.
  • Across the region, businesses and municipalities are committing to power their energy needs with zero carbon resources.

WRA has the expertise and experience to lead what must be a collaborative effort to reduce greenhouse gas pollution across the West so we know we can get there. But we still have a long way to go, and a lot more utilities, state decision-makers, and agencies to get on board.

With the latest reports saying we have a little more than a decade to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, we need to act now, and we need your support to do it.
