2019 marks 30 years of protecting the West’s land, air, and water at Western Resource Advocates – and we’re celebrating!

Throughout the year, we’ll be connecting with friends of WRA who have helped make our organization what it is today: former and current employees, board members, volunteers, and people who care about the West just as much as we do.

We’re taking a look back at where we’ve been and where we still need to go. And while Western Resource Advocates has changed over the years, one thing has remained constant:

We’re working to solve the West’s greatest environmental challenges.

Our Story

In 1989, while running her own private practice, Kelley Green founded the Land and Water Fund of the Rockies (LAW Fund), an environmental law and advocacy organization, dedicated to developing solutions tailored to the unique environment of the interior American West. The LAW Fund considered the economic, environmental, and cultural implications of all its actions.
