Area of Focus:
Chris is the Director of WRA’s Western Lands Program, dedicated to increasing conserved acreage in the West. Chris leads a team of professionals that work to design and implement innovative projects to maintain, grow, and connect western lands and resources, and to help ensure that the quality of life westerners enjoy is preserved for future generations. The Western Lands Program team works with a diverse group of conservation groups, state and federal government officials, and industry partners to craft initiatives with broad interest and benefit.
Prior to joining Western Resource Advocates in 2017, Chris spent three and a half years as a policy advisor with the Western Governors’ Association, where his work focused on developing and implementing regional, bipartisan energy, land management, and air quality policies. Chris is also a licensed Colorado attorney, and before joining the Western Governors’ Association he worked for several years as an associate attorney with a private energy law firm in Denver.
Chris holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence and a law degree from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law.
Favorite thing about the West:
Endless hiking opportunities, thick forests, and cold mountain rivers. Colorado’s microbrewery scene is pretty great as well.
