Area of Focus:

Chris is the Director of WRA’s Western Lands Program, dedicated to increasing conserved acreage in the West. The Western Lands Program team works with a diverse group of conservation groups, state and federal government officials, and industry partners to craft initiatives with broad interest and benefit.

Background:

Prior to joining Western Resource Advocates in 2017, Chris spent three and a half years as a policy advisor with the Western Governors’ Association, where his work focused on developing and implementing regional, bipartisan energy, land management, and air quality policies. Chris is also a licensed Colorado attorney, and before joining the Western Governors’ Association he worked for several years as an associate attorney with a private energy law firm in Denver.

Education:

Chris holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence and a law degree from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law.

Favorite thing about the West:

Endless hiking opportunities, thick forests, and cold mountain rivers. Colorado’s microbrewery scene is pretty great as well.
